6 years ago I made a decision that changed my life

6 years ago this week I stepped on the plane for my first ever solo trip.

Life changing that trip was. It woke me up.

But it wasn't the trip itself that changed my life.

It was the decision to go on that trip that did.

In 2014, I had finally graduated university after taking a bit longer to finish my degree while also working full-time.

My mom was healthy after a year of health scares, biopsies and surgery.

I was single again after being in a not so healthy relationship for seven years.

It felt like I was starting over and at the same time felt like I had never begun.

I was too busy running through life doing the things I thought I was supposed to and taking care of everyone(thing) else: my mom, my schooling, my career, my partner.

And in 2015, I realized this: I didn’t have a relationship with myself.

I didn’t know what I wanted...

I didn’t know how to connect with myself... or be a friend to myself...

I didn’t know how to trust myself or how to feel confidence…

So in the act of opening up the KAYAK website and randomly choosing a country (Greece) to visit by myself, I made a decision: I was going to build a relationship with myself and I needed support to do it.

I know, it sounds so cliché.

BUT... here’s the thing...

Those things you want in life. To slow down. To be more confident. To trust yourself more. To have loving relationships. To listen to yourself. To live with more meaning and purpose...

It isn't going to just land in your lap. It takes action, and courage, and commitment to cultivate it.

Learn how to slow down and stop running through life.

Learn practices that help you embrace all experiences; the challenges and the joys.

Find the right support to make it sustainable (doing it on your own is really hard, speaking from experience!).

If you’ve been in my community lately, you’ll know I’ve been exploring the concept of courage.

The courage to be yourself.

The courage to say, “I am going to take care of myself first, then I can support you.”

The courage to listen to your inner voice, your gut, your intuition.

I’ve spoken to so many people over the last few weeks who have told me they don’t know where to start.

Since so many people have been asking me, "where do I start?", I've decided to create a new 3-week online foundations course to help you build the foundations for the most important relationship you'll ever have: the one with yourself.

This course will teach you the foundations to stop worrying and rushing so that you can slow down and connect back to yourself. It'll give you strategies and practices to start to put yourself first, to cultivate confidence and self trust, and have support and accountability.

Check it out here.
